This Sunday was Valentine's Day. A time to celebrate the love of your life and show them you care. I'm currently single. Not awkwardly, bitterly single. But enamoured that the people I love have, found their 'person' and delighted that without exception these new 'persons' are awesome.
As for me, I'm vaguely looking for my 'person', and revelling in my independence. But in the meantime, I've realised that I'm basically dating "Running"
I spend time with Running everyday and usually enjoy his company. He makes me laugh, he makes happy, he makes me a better person. Although sometimes he annoys the hell out of me. He tends to niggle at me after a couple of hours. And he leaves his crap all over the flat....food....shoes....bags and accessories and safety pins and blister plasters and endless single socks.

Venturing into the realm of "too much information" here. Running is very good at getting me excited, sweaty and leaving me happy afterwards. Memorably we went at it 4 times in 24hrs once! And I'm even into early mornings with Running. Sometimes the only time we can fit in a quick session is before work. Some things are worth getting up for!
I tend to be a bit smug about how long Running and I have been together. I post selfies of us doing cool things at the weekends and we always celebrate our anniversaries. I bore people to tears on social media with tales of our latest adventures. Last year we went abroad!
We've only been together 2 years, we're still in the honeymoon period. I try to make an effort and buy stylish workout clothes. I tend to wear lipstick and bright eye liner for our race day dates. In 10 years I probably won't be wearing my best technical neon outfits for Running. But for now I like to dress up.
And Running gets me the best bling. Running takes me to the coolest events all over the country, and we have lots of mini breaks. At least once a month he gets me another piece of jewellery and makes me feel like I've earned it. I really should wear them more.....
I really do love Running, and whoever else comes into my life I hope we never stop spending time together. Like all relationships I'm sure it will have its ups and downs. But, if like my friends and family's significant others, Running keeps making me laugh and brings a sparkle to my eyes, then I'm sure we can go the distance
